As a current senior in food science at Auburn University, I plan on graduating in May of 2017. The education that I have received at Auburn will help me be successful as I further my education by pursing a graduate degree in food science. By participating in the food science club at Auburn University, I have gained experience in product development, professional savvy, and team-oriented skills. Taking classes in food safety and food law readily prepared for me for my regulatory internship at Bush Brother's and Company where I was able to put my knowledge into practice. The classes that I have taken in Product Development and Poultry Processing have greatly enhanced my knowledge of the product development process. By making two different novel products in each of these classes I have been able to understand the challenges that the food industry faces when creating new products. The knowledge I have gained at Auburn University has prepared me to go on to further my education in food science.
